Jessica and William got married yesterday at the Summerville Presbyterian Church in Summerville, South Carolina. Originally the plan was to get married at Hunting Island State Park near Beaufort, but between the possibility of thunderstorms and the 95 degree heat, the venue was changed last minute. It was definitely for the best. The location was great, and everything came together. I've done some trash the dress sessions before, but I've never done a trash the bouquet (I think we might have invented that yesterday). Jess beat Will over the head with the bouquet for some truly hilarious shots. Here's a couple shots from the wedding, one serious, the other fun. Enjoy.

I take a lot of photographs. A lot. I take a lot of wedding photos, engagement photos, portraits, journalism, you name it. If I were to let it, my passion might turn into a job, and then it just wouldn't be fun anymore. Every once in a while, it's nice to just shoot for me. This week I was able to do that. I got to go on a short trip with my family and just shoot whatever I felt like. That's how you keep from getting stale. Shoot what you want to just because it's fun, just because it's there. Here are a few of my shots from this week on my trip to the upcountry.

One of the most fun things I get to shoot are engagement pictures. Not only do I get to shoot pictures of a couple without all the stress of a wedding day, but I get to be creative and bring out the personality and interests of the couple. This ultimately helps me to take better pictures on their wedding day, because I learn how the couple normally interact with each other. Last weekend I had the pleasure of taking Julie and Matt's engagement pictures at Hunting Island State Park. It's such a gorgeous spot to shoot, and the heat and humidity let up just enough to have a really good time. The lighting was perfect as well. Looking forward to shooting their wedding in the fall.

This last Saturday, I had the opportunity to be a part of Laura and Willy's wedding on Fripp Island, South Carolina. It was a Quaker wedding, which was a first for me. But the other thing that was somewhat unusual was that they brought a classic car along for their exit, and also for some fun shots after the ceremony. A classic car can be a great tool for getting some really memorable pictures at your wedding. Here are a couple shots from Laura and Willy's wedding, as well as a couple others from other weddings. Enjoy.

This week I went to a Lowcountry Wedding Professionals Meeting in Bluffton, South Carolina. What was a little unusual about this meeting was that we had a mock-up of an actual wedding, with a lot of the decorations and the flowers, and even the cake set up as if it was an actual wedding. We also had a couple who had been married for ten month, but because he was military, they were never able to have a full-blown wedding. Consequently, they had no wedding pictures. It was my pleasure to remedy that by taking their pictures as part of the event. So congratulations Julia and Max. It might be a little late, but you've got your wedding pictures now. Congratulations to you both. Here's a few pictures from our shoot.
