This last Saturday, I had the opportunity to be a part of Laura and Willy's wedding on Fripp Island, South Carolina. It was a Quaker wedding, which was a first for me. But the other thing that was somewhat unusual was that they brought a classic car along for their exit, and also for some fun shots after the ceremony. A classic car can be a great tool for getting some really memorable pictures at your wedding. Here are a couple shots from Laura and Willy's wedding, as well as a couple others from other weddings. Enjoy.

This week I went to a Lowcountry Wedding Professionals Meeting in Bluffton, South Carolina. What was a little unusual about this meeting was that we had a mock-up of an actual wedding, with a lot of the decorations and the flowers, and even the cake set up as if it was an actual wedding. We also had a couple who had been married for ten month, but because he was military, they were never able to have a full-blown wedding. Consequently, they had no wedding pictures. It was my pleasure to remedy that by taking their pictures as part of the event. So congratulations Julia and Max. It might be a little late, but you've got your wedding pictures now. Congratulations to you both. Here's a few pictures from our shoot.

Recently I was able to do a shoot pictures of Topher Maraffi for Beaufort Lifestyle Magazine. At first, I really wasn't sure what I was going to shoot. The setting at the local college really didn't lend itself to doing great pictures. But then I found out that he also did tango dancing at a local studio. I brought my lighting setup over to the studio, and was able to shoot Topher and his dance partner Marcia doing the tango. I ended up with some shots I'm very happy with. Here's a few of them for you.

Last month I had the pleasure of being able to leave Beaufort and travel down to the Bahamas to shoot a wedding. Not only was the wedding itself amazing and beautiful, but the bride and groom, Rachel and Brian, were willing to do a trash the dress session the next day. Fortunately, I'd brought the underwater housing for one of my cameras. Not only were we able to do the usual jumping into the water shots, but we were able to do some underwater ones as well in the clear turquoise waters of the Abacos. This along with a bride who looked totally comfortable underwater in her dress made for some really great shots. I even got a call shortly after from someone at the CBS morning show about doing a feature, but unfortunately the scheduling didn't work. Still, the recognition was nice. Here are a couple shots from the session.

Congratulations to Leslie and Jaco!  Both are from South Africa, but got married here in the Beaufort lowcountry. We had dreary conditions to deal with, but just as the sun was about to dip below the horizon, it poked out through the clouds. With a long lens to bring the scene together, this was what we got! Congratulations to you both, and it was a pleasure to be part of your wedding.
